Investigations are underway after a teenage boy died in a shed fire in Doncaster.

The 13-year-old died was found dead inside the shed last night once the fire had been put out.

Emergency services were called to an Byron Avenue, Campsall, at around 9pm last night.

Details are still emerging, but firefighters and police are at the scene.

A South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman: “Firefighters worked quickly to put the fire out. Sadly once the fire was out it was discovered that a person was dead inside the shed.

“An investigation into the fire will take place today.”

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “A body was discovered after the fire was extinguished and while formal identification is yet to take place, it is believed to be that of a 13-year-old boy.

“A joint investigation between South Yorkshire Police and South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service is continuing this morning.”
