Mid and West and South Wales Fire and Rescue Services are collaborating on a Wholetime Firefighter Recruitment Campaign and both are hoping for a positive response within the registration period.

During the month of November, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service is hosting awareness sessions for groups which are under-represented within our workforce such as females, LGBT or people from a black or minority ethnic background.

The Awareness Sessions will be held at Haverfordwest, Port Talbot and Carmarthen Fire Stations and provide a taster and insight of the everyday duties of a Firefighter.

Chief fire officer, Chris Davies, from Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: “The role of a Firefighter is a unique and rewarding one. It is demanding and requires you to show enthusiasm and commitment to serve your community.

“You will not be alone in achieving this, you will have the full support of Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service.

“We will provide you with the training and support that will allow you to work as a member of a team and to the highest standards in protecting our communities.

“We serve every member of mid and west Wales and we welcome applications from all members of our communities.”

Online registration opens on 5 December and for more information phone 01267 226839 or email personnel@mawwfire.gov.uk
