Drivers in Jersey are being told to think about where they park their cars, after vehicles on the road delayed firefighters yesterday.

Jersey Fire and Rescue Service were heading to a car fire in St Lawrence.

The owner was left to try and tackle the fire himself while waiting for emergency services.

When his attempts failed, he pushed the burning car away from other vehicles for safety.

Although firefighters admit the delay they faced had “little influence” on the result of the incident, they say it could have had “serious consequences” to a critical event.
